Missing deadlines isn't much fun.

So, I found this Canon [*cringe*] competition, and I was going to enter the portraiture contest, but I missed the application deadline by 2 DAYS. That 'sucks' majorly. There is an open competition, I believe it's low light, but I'm not sure if I want to enter it. Oh well. Maybe next year.

My new camera is going great.

We're moving house. Sorry for the lack of posts. Or the lack of content in the posts.

And I'll give a flower to you.

Bokehlicious.
That's what this is. Well, not really. Bokeh is over-rated in the world of photography. At leat, I think it is. But I've seen some flickr phostreams with some amazing bokeh. I don't know. Good? Bad? I think it depends on how the picture has been executed, what it is actually of, whether or not it is fake [the stuff people 'make' that are shapes - now that's what I call trashy]....

Anywho, I'm really enjoying my new camera. I love it a lot. I just need to learn how to really use it. It can be slighlty frustrating sometimes, but I am new to DSLR photography and it will get better the more I use it.

MY NEW D60 IS WAAAY COOLER THAN YOURS.

IT
ARRIVED
TODAY.
You don't know how happy it's made me. It's got to be the best camera I've ever owned, which isn't hard to live up to, but still, It awesome.
LOVELOVELOVELOVELOVELOVE.
I might go on a photowalk [on my own...] tomorrow afternoon after school. Maybe.
Gah. I love this thing so much.
Really. I do love it.
I now have a whole draw on my bedside table for camera and ipod schtuff.
I have 3 lens cap thing-a-ma-bobs and only one lens.
I'm saving up for a remote and a macro lens for it. Not sure which macro lens. I'll get around to that soon.

SchoolSchoolSchool.

This isn't exactly photography related, but I need to vent.

So, I've applied for this super amazing fantastic school for next year, but unfortunately, their class for my year year level is already full for next year. So I have to stay at the awful school I currently attend. I'm 10th on the waiting list.

I feel like some of my dreams have been......crushed. I was really looking forward to it because I'd really be able to focus on my photography and english.

Oh well, we can't have it all.

When I look back on some of my older pictures - when I first got my camera - I realise just how much I've improved. I don't really notice it when I look at some of my current pictures, but if you compare them, you're going to notice.

I really do hope to improve even more when I get my D60. It's coming in 2 weeks!!

There's something about taking a picture that you're really proud of, it makes you feel so happy. I've been rather happy lately, with spring starting, the english teacher telling me I should take 121 English next year, knowing my D60 is coming, doing well in my interview with a school I've recently sent an application to for next year. Things are looking up!

I'm starting to like New Zealand more as well, it's been almost a year since we moved here, and I can't really imagine living in Australia any more. Things have changed so much, I've changed, the people over there have changed. It would be...odd to move back. I think.

I've realised just how much people focus on petty little things like how they look, what people think of them, things that happened in the past that they just can't let go, being 'normal' etc. It's ridiculous.

Anywho, I think I've typed enough now. So if there's anyone out there reading this - Adios.
